The most vital importance of calcium for women is its function in bone development. Young women (adolescents and young adults) need to make sure they get enough calcium, as they can achieve their peak bone mass just after this age. Adequate amounts of calcium will help their bones reach optimum bone density. This can help protect them from osteoporosis later in life. Mature women also need calcium to prevent break-down of bone.
There is also a growing body of research that suggests that calcium may prevent Premenstrual syndrome. Women usually take calcium tablets, capsule or syrup; when doctors only prescribe to them. They think that they need to take this because this is a medicine. But without any prescription they can get calcium if we can make calcium soft drink.
If we can come out with soft drinks which will give calcium to them, it would be a good solution for women’s health along with company’s bottomline.

Your Idea is very good and it is very much attractive for the soft drink producers and medicine companies. In our local market there is a product named CaC (product of Novartis) which is combination of calcium and Vitamin C in dispersible tablet form. The bolus melts in water and gives a soft drink type taste and mouth feeling. Incepta pharma also launched the same preperation in local market. This products are available in all big medicine shops al over the country.
Our beverage companies should come foreward to launch such type of products with huge media promotion. Novartis or Incepta who are marketing this product can go for mass promotion if the regulatory authority (Drug administration) gives permission as the have given for baby zinc (Acme).

For Bangladeshi beverage market “Calcium Soft Drink” is still folded. Someone needs to open the bottle up. I do believe the first one should be gainer. Let’s see who can BANG!
